M Modern - a gallery that always seems to impress!

Sat., April 15th, 2006 opens a SYD MEAD solo show in gallery I and THE FUTURE, a very limited group show of our best selling artists to date in gallery II. SYD (as you may recall) designed the worlds seen in movies such as Bladerunner, Tron, Aliens, 2010, etc. and his futuristic vehicles (including many for HOT WHEELS) are instantly recognizable for their visionary designs. SYD is a sought after guest speaker the world over and we feel priviledged to have him show with us. Our companion group show THE FUTURE will feature artists such as GLENN BARR, SHAG, DAVE BURKE, CHRIS RECCARDI, LYNNE NAYLOR, NAOTO HATTORI, JOE LEDBETTER, LUKE CHUEH, THOMAS HAN, STONE, JOEY REMMERS, etc.. Their visions of the future always inspire and provide timeless eye candy.

(It's very much a work-in-progress - the little elves i have putting it together are a bit more than halfway done with the solo shows and have just started compling data on the group shows. Info from the "Shag Ltd" book has yet to be added and neither has eBay auctions for originals.)

M Modern's "Blonde Bombshell" Group Show opens tomorrow evening with Ms. Mamie Van Doren hosting the festivities. i'd love to be there - Ms. Van Doren fascinates (yet intimidates) me.

...and don't forget the Shag booksigning from 4:00 to 6:00 PM!

The "News" page has been updated with "The recently opened Georgia Aquarium, the world's largest aquarium, commissioned Shag to create a gigantic mural depicting his take on undersea life. The mural, which is over 100 feet long and almost 20 feet tall, debuted at the Aquarium opening in November 2005."

M Modern will have Shag's first group show of the year opening on Saturday, Blonde Bombshells. Keep your eyes peeled for an image of Shag's contribution - M Modern is top notch at keeping those of us unlucky enough to not live in the Palm Springs area up to date.

SHAG will be signing his book 'SHAG: The art of Josh Agle' from 4-6 pm on Saturday, January 14th as well as other SHAG items purchased from the gallery.

DC Gallery sent out an e-mail with info about their upcoming solo show - "The Zoologist's Wife" -


That's right everyone...we're starting off the New Year with a bang, with a solo show from everyone's favorite artist, SHAG, featuring new paintings and some of the artist's much sought after sold out prints! As with the last show, the prints will be sold on a first come, first serve basis - one print per person, so be sure to show up early!

The show will run from February 3rd - March 1st and the opening reception will be Friday, February 3rd from 7-10pm. Don't miss it!
