Back Stage West reports that Josh Agle and Joel Berlin (Shag with a Twist, LA Theatre Center in Association with Jetsetter Productions) are nominees for the 16th annual Ovation Awards' "Costume Design Large Theatre" category.

The 2005 Ovation Awards ceremony, directed by Mark Seldis, will take place at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles. Tickets: www.ticketmaster.com, (213) 614-0556.

The show, "Shag With A Twist," ran for 15 weeks, and is now being prepared to go on the road.

NOTE - Just to warn the folks out there that have a boss and/or LAN/WAN guru that is a pest, i got the Net-Nanny 'Screen o' Death' when attempting to go up on the Buzz site at work.

Yow - some painful looking rip-offs! My #1 fan Lars has more talent in his little finger than this person. Even these quasi-sweat shop produced "tributes" are better. i can almost feel my eyes burning when i look at the "originals" by holidays-n-parties. Any complaints about how simplistic and/or imitatable Shag's work is are now null and void.

Also, word around the schoolyard is that there will be 2 clothing lines coming out soon from "Shag International" - anyone else know anything about this?

Just noticed that the "Toot, Whistle, Plunk & Boom" that influenced Shag's style will be coming out on the upcoming Walt Disney Treasures - Disney Rarities DVD on December 6th.

(i guess it was already available on the "Fantasia 2000" DVD, but i abstained from that release... [i think])

Here's a quandary - do you pay $250.00 ($450.00 framed) for the West Coast Jazz print from the La Luz de Jesus Gallery or pay more for it on eBay?

Remembered where i've seen the image on page 137 of "Shag: The Art of Josh Agle" that is wrongly ID'd as "Last Table In Vegas."

Now if we only knew why "Beatnik Diary" (page 94) was flipped and the Flank images (#1 #2) swapped (page 69)...

Guy i work with who's the spitting image of that Kevin Smith guy just told me that Mr. Smith references Shag more than a few times in his blog, appropropriately called 'My Boring Ass Life' (he has a 'The Sun Also Rises' serigraph hanging in his crapper).
